In 2024, the project titled “Transforming Prejudices, Looking to the Future with Hope” was implemented as part of the “Stronger Than HIV Together” initiative, facilitated by Gilead in collaboration with civil society organizations and professional associations working in the field of HIV. Launched during European HIV Testing Week (November 18–25) and World AIDS Day (December 1), the project aimed to help transform social prejudices about HIV by harnessing the power of art.

Our Foundation participated in the project’s launch event held on November 25.

During the meeting, experts shared insights on a wide range of topics, from HIV transmission to treatment, and from stigma to recent medical developments. As TAP Foundation, we emphasized that misinformation about HIV transmission, prevention methods, and treatment options remains widespread, underlining the importance of continued awareness and education efforts.

We drew attention to the growing prevalence of HIV among younger age groups, stressing the need to protect adolescents and youth from related health risks. We also highlighted the lack of comprehensive health education in formal curricula, especially for children and adolescents, sharing findings from curriculum-based research.

The meeting concluded with a strong emphasis on the role of comprehensive sexuality education in not only preventing health risks but also enhancing adolescents’ life skills and fostering responsible behavior. The importance of making counseling and sexual health services accessible to young people was also underlined.
