We held the International Webinar on Sexual and Reproductive Health in Crisis Situations on March 19, 2025, with the participation of 329 people from Turkey and abroad.

Under the moderation of Sibel Sakarya, MD, MPH, MHPE,  board member of our foundation,  Lale Say, MD from the World Health Organization (WHO), Lia Brigante, BMid, from the International Confederation of Midwives, Diana C. Pulido Martínez, MD, MPH,  from the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Gökhan Yıldırımkaya, MD from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Turkey, and Deniz Özkor from our foundation shared their practices in sexual and reproductive health in emergency and crises.

During the webinar, the following points were emphasized in crises:

  • International standards and guidelines,
  • Integration of midwifery within the context of safe motherhood,
  • Empowering local communities,
  • Considering the Minimum Initial Service Package (MISP),
  • Strengthening reproductive health and providing psychosocial support,
  • The importance of local, national, and international coordination.
  • Safe Motherhood Training of Trainers

Our participants shared many insights and asked numerous questions throughout the session. They also stated that they would benefit from the practical examples presented.
