What is it?

Safe Sexuality and Youth Studies are awareness-raising and informational efforts that support individuals in maintaining a sexual life that is free from unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections, and that is free from coercion, violence, and discrimination, without emotional or social harm.

Purpose

Ensuring that sexuality—a natural part of the human life cycle—is experienced safely is essential both for protecting public health and reducing the burden of disease on healthcare systems, as well as for preventing violence and contributing to social peace. Safe Sexuality and Youth Studies encompass educational, awareness, and counseling initiatives aimed at promoting safe sexuality. In doing so, they support healthy, quality living and gender equality.

Core Activities

Awareness, education and information campaigns targeting young people

Through booths, seminars, and training activities targeting university students, we support the dissemination of knowledge and the raising of awareness on topics such as sexual and reproductive health, sexual rights, STIs and HIV, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.

In particular, to help protect young people from sexually transmitted infections, we collaborate with universities to organize events as part of HIV Awareness Week on December 1st.
